Newcastle United have made their first signing of the Saudi Arabia PIF era with the capture of Kieran Trippier from Atlético Madrid.
Trippier joins the Magpies in a deal worth a reported £12m and the 31-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract at St James’ Park.
The England international previously played under Eddie Howe at Burnley and joined Atlético from Tottenham Hotspur in 2019.
He went on to make 83 appearances for the Spanish side and helped them win last season’s LaLiga title.
